  • When should I keep my little away from nursery due to illness?

As with adults if you are unwell you often want your own home and comfort. We ask you to keep your child at home if they have a high temperature, sickness and (or) diarrhoea (48hrs exclusion), eye infections and unidentified rashes or spots.

  • Why do you have a 48hr rule for sickness and diarrhoea?

This is to ensure that your little is completely clear of their illness so that it mitigates the spread of illnesses.

  • Do I need to advise nursery if my little will not be attending the setting due to illness?

Yes, please. If you can advise the setting as soon as you know your little is not well enough to attend.

  • Who is allowed to pick up my little?

We will only allow your little to leave the setting with an authorised adult as advised by you. For further protection we adopt a password system. The password is set by you.

  • What if the authorised person does not know the password?

Even if the authorised person can identify themselves, we will not release your little. They MUST know the password. We will make some phone calls to ensure the safety of your little prior to letting your little leave the premises. Safeguarding is paramount.

  • What if I am late picking up my little?

We will apply common sense as we do understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur. However, the setting will apply late collection charges if regular lateness occurs. Late collection charges are outlined in our brochure.

  • When do fees apply throughout the year?

Depending on the attendance of your little, fees are paid 51 weeks of the year including bank holidays, your own holiday and when your little is sick. We are closed from 1800 on 23rd December and open the first working day of January. During this period of closure, fees are not due.

  • When are fees due?

Fees are payable in advance which is standard across the childcare sector. Fees can be paid, weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

  • How can I pay?

You can pay via standing order, cash, or cheque. We do not have card payment facilities as we have no demand for these. Standing order is the preferred method of payment.

  • What happens if I fall behind with my fees?

If fees should become overdue and in arrears for a period of one week your child will lose their place and will not have access to Little G’s Pre-school. Access cannot be resumed until the arrears and any other payments are made in order to bring the account into ‘current’ status.

  • Do you have policies and procedures in place?

Yes, we have full policies and procedures in place as per Ofsted requirements. Our policies and procedures are written in line with the NDNA (National Day Nurseries Association). These are the backbone of our nursery and we abide by these policies to maintain the highest quality of care for your child.

If you would like to take a look at our policies and procedures just ask a member of staff as we are happy to share them with you.
